What is the GRE used for in India?

The GRE is primarily used for MS, PhD and Masters programmes abroad — MIT, Stanford, CMU, Georgia Tech, University of Toronto, NUS, ETH Zurich, and Imperial College. It is also accepted for MBA admissions as an alternative to GMAT at some schools.

How important is the GRE vocabulary section?

GRE Verbal is heavily vocabulary-dependent. Text Completion and Sentence Equivalence together account for roughly half of Verbal questions. GRADSKOOL's 5,000-word vocabulary programme is built into the course — context-based, not rote.
